Rachel Laurence
Rachel Laurence is the Senior Coordinator of NEF's 'New Economy in Practice' team, which brings together the diverse elements of NEF's work on systemic economic change, and considers how this applies at local and regional level. Her specific focus is on community economic development, and regional political economy, and how these two areas connect. Before joining NEF, Rachel worked on UK child poverty and welfare policy and programmes, for Save the Children UK. This included both direct delivery of programmes with children and families, as well as policy and practice development with local government and third sector partners. She also managed the 4in10 London Child Poverty Network, and prior to this, worked in the refugee community development sector in Manchester on organisational capacity building, community campaigning, and welfare advice. Rachel's MRes in Social Policy examined public attitudes to work, welfare, and asylum.
